Daily Current Affairs / U.S. to impose 35% tariff on Bangladeshi imports from August 1:
Category : Business and economics Published on: July 12 2025
The United States has officially announced a new 35% tariff on goods imported from Bangladesh, which will come into effect starting August 1. The announcement, made by U.S. President Donald Trump, reflects only a slight reduction from the initially proposed 37% rate. This follows a 90-day negotiation window granted after the initial tariff declaration in April. The imposition of this tariff casts uncertainty over Bangladesh’s trade prospects with the U.S., one of its key export markets.
