Tuvalu, a small Pacific island nation of just 26 sq km, has joined the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as its 90th State Member. Facing severe threats from sea-level rise and climate change, Tuvalu gains access to global expertise, resources, and partnerships for biodiversity protection and climate adaptation. The membership strengthens the voice of vulnerable island nations in advocating climate justice, shaping international conservation policies, and implementing nature-based solutions to safeguard ecosystems and ensure resilience against environmental challenges.
