On August 6, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing an additional 25% tariff on Indian imports, citing India’s continued oil trade with Russia. This follows an earlier 25% tariff order issued on July 31. The first tariff takes effect from August 7, while the additional tariff will come into force 21 days later, effectively doubling duties on Indian goods entering the U.S.
