The FIDE Grand Swiss is a chess championship.
It was organized in Switzerland in November 2023.
Vidit Gujarati won the title of this championship in the men's category.
In the women's category, this title was won by R. Vaishali won.
With this victory, both these Indian players also confirmed their place for FIDE Candidate.
Vidit Gujarati defeated Aleksandar Predke of Serbia in the final round in the men's category.
On the other hand, R remained undefeated in the entire tournament. Vaishali also created history and became the first Indian female player to win the FIDE Grand Swiss.
Also, after Koneru Humpy, she has become the second Indian female player to make it to the FIDE Candidate list.
