· The National Florence Nightingale Award, the highest national honor that a nurse can receive, has been conferred on Brigadier SV Saraswati, Deputy Director General, and Military Nursing Service (MNS) for 2020.
· "As a renowned operation theater nurse, she has assisted in more than 3,000 lifesaving and emergency surgeries and trained residents, operation room nursing trainees and support staff throughout her career," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
· Brigadier Saraswati hails from Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh and was inducted into MNS on December 28, 1983.
