ISRO successfully launches INSAT-3DS, a weather monitoring and disaster warning satellite.
The satellite was launched on GSLV-F14 rocket from Sriharikota.
INSAT-3DS has superior capabilities to provide weather and climate-related information.
The main purpose of this satellite is to monitor the Earth's surface, make ocean observations and monitor the atmosphere even more thoroughly.
GSLV or Geosynchronous Launch Vehicle was called the "naughty boy" of Indian space due to its repeated failures in the past.
