Actor Thalapathy Vijay has announced the formation of a new political party named 'Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam'.
The decision comes with a pledge for "fundamental political change" emphasizing transparency, caste neutrality, and corruption-free governance.
Vijay's fan club, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, endorsed the formation of the party in a recent meeting in Chennai.
An application to register the party with the Election Commission (EC) is underway.
The party aims to participate in and win the 2026 assembly elections, aiming to fulfill the people's desire for meaningful political transformation.
