  • Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami officially opened the 'Surai Ecotourism Zone' and 'Kakra Crocodile Trail' in Khatima.
  • The Surai Ecotourism Zone will be the state's first such zone, allowing tourists to go on jungle safaris.
  • The Kakra Crocodile Trail is also the first place where tourists can safely observe the crocodile species 'Marsh.'
  • The primary goal of this scheme is to assist Khatima and surrounding areas, which have historically been underserved in terms of tourism, in achieving a high level of success.
  • The Surai forest area's forest paths have been created as a Biodiversity Trail by the Forest Department. This region has an area of 180 square kilometres. It is bounded on the east by the Sharda Sagar Dam, on the west by Khatima Nagar, on the north by Melaghat Road, and on the south by the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve region.
