  • Former Supreme Court judge Harjit Singh Bedi died on 21 November 2024. 
  • Justice Bedi, born on September 5, 1946, served as a Supreme Court judge from January 12, 2007 to September 5, 2011.
  • Justice Bedi headed a monitoring authority appointed by the Supreme Court in 2012 that probed fake encounter cases in Gujarat. He had recommended additional investigations for three of the 17 cases.
