The Sumi community celebrated the post-harvest festival "Ahuna Mahotsav" on 14th November 2024 in Dimapur, Mokokchung, and Viilho villages of Nagaland.
It is a confluence of culture, history, and community spirit that binds all individuals together.
The main feature of the Ahuna festival is the community feast, in which newly cut rice is cooked and distributed in bamboo pieces, symbolizing the sharing of prosperity and blessings.
Also, the festival is a platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Sumi Nagas.
