  • The Sumi community celebrated the post-harvest festival "Ahuna Mahotsav" on 14th November 2024 in Dimapur, Mokokchung, and Viilho villages of Nagaland.
  • It is a confluence of culture, history, and community spirit that binds all individuals together.
  • The main feature of the Ahuna festival is the community feast, in which newly cut rice is cooked and distributed in bamboo pieces, symbolizing the sharing of prosperity and blessings. 
  • Also, the festival is a platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Sumi Nagas.
