The Gujarat government, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, launched the Sugam Digital Gujarat Initiative on March 24, 2026, under the Department of Science and Technology. It digitises around 20 high-transaction public services across five departments: Social Justice & Empowerment, Revenue, Legal, Food & Civil Supplies, and Tribal Development.

Impact: The platform already handles ~1.20 crore applications annually, with ~87 lakh linked to these services. It aims to cut processing time, enable real-time tracking, and boost transparency. Future plans include Gujarati-language AI models and wider departmental integration.
