Sub Lieutenant Aastha Poonia has made history as the first woman to be trained as a fighter pilot in the Indian Navy. She is expected to fly MiG-29K or the naval variant of Rafale from India’s aircraft carriers. This milestone adds to the Navy’s inclusion of women in aerial roles across reconnaissance aircraft and helicopters.
