  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the 216-foot-tall “Statue of Equality” commemorating the 11th-century Bhakti saint Sri Ramanujacharya, in Hyderabad.
  • It is one of the tallest metallic statues in sitting position in the world.
  • This statue is made from 'Panchloha', which is a combination of five metals - gold, silver, copper, brass, and zinc.
  • The statue has been inaugurated on the 12-day Sri Ramanuja Millennium Celebrations, which is a part of the 1,000th birth anniversary celebrations of Saint Sri Ramanujacharya.
