Spinoza Award

The Spinoza Prize is awarded by the Dutch/Netherlands Government.
This award is the highest award given by the Dutch government in the field of science.
Recently, Indian origin scientist Joyita Gupta has been honored with this award.
Joyita Gupta is Professor of Environment and Development in the Global South at the University of Amsterdam and Co-Chair of the Earth Commission.
It is awarded annually to researchers working in the Netherlands who conduct the best research worldwide in accordance with international standards.
Joyita Gupta will receive 1.5 million euros to spend on activities related to scientific research and knowledge utilization.
