  • This award is the highest award given by the Dutch government in the field of science.
  • Recently, Indian origin scientist Joyita Gupta has been honored with this award.
  • Joyita Gupta is Professor of Environment and Development in the Global South at the University of Amsterdam and Co-Chair of the Earth Commission.
  • It is awarded annually to researchers working in the Netherlands who conduct the best research worldwide in accordance with international standards.
  • Joyita Gupta will receive 1.5 million euros to spend on activities related to scientific research and knowledge utilization.
