  • Recently India and Argentina have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Social Security.
  • The agreement was signed by Dinesh Bhatia, Ambassador of India to Argentina, and Santiago Cafiero, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina.
  • This agreement will help the employees and their family members working in another country on temporary basis in the event of any reduction, modification, suspension.
  • The agreement entitles citizens of both countries to contributory benefits such as cash allowance, rent, subsidy or lump sum payment for retirement or pension.
  • It establishes the legal framework regulating insurance periods in respect of individual workers, including crew members of airlines and ships.
  • Argentina is a country in the South American continent.
  • Its capital is Santiago.
