  • Skyroot Aerospace successfully test-fired Stage-2 of the Vikram-1 space launch vehicle, named Kalam-250, at ISRO's propulsion testbed in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
  • Stage-2 plays a critical role in the ascent of the launch vehicle, propelling it from the atmospheric phase to the deep vacuum of outer space.
  • The test recorded a peak sea-level thrust of 186 kilonewtons (kN), which indicates a fully expanded vacuum thrust of around 235kN during flight.
  • The Kalam-250 utilizes a high-strength carbon composite rocket motor and a high-performance EPDM Thermal Protection System (TPS).
