SJFI to honor Sunil Gavaskar

The Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) decided to bestow the prestigious SJFI Medal on legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Guwahati.
Neeraj Chopra, who won India's lone gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, was named SJFI ‘Sportsman of the Year’, while weightlifter Mirabai Chanu was named ‘Sportswoman of the Year’.
The Indian men's hockey team, which won bronze in Tokyo – the country's first medal in hockey in 40 years – has been named ‘Team of the Year’.
