The supernatural thriller Sinners has become the first film ever to receive 16 Academy Award nominations.
It earned nods in major categories including Best Picture, Director, Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, and the newly introduced casting award, surpassing the earlier record of 14 nominations held by All About Eve, Titanic, and La La Land.
