Vinay Mohan Kwatra, a retired Indian Foreign Service (IFS) diplomat, served as Foreign Secretary from 2022 to 2024.
He has also been the ambassador to France and Nepal.
On Friday, he was appointed as India's next Ambassador to the United States, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs.
