  • The Shri Krishan Balram Rath Yatra has been designated as a "state festival" by Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
  • The Chief Minister also announced a Rs 2.51 crore grant to the Ludhiana-based Iskcon Temple.
  • After the famous Jagannath Yatra of Puri in Odisha, it is regarded the country's second-greatest assemblage of Lord Jagannath followers.
  • This yatra has been organised by ISKCON in Ludhiana for the past 25 years.
