The Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates elected Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the President of the country.
He has replaced Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who died at the age of 73.
Mohammed bin Zayed (MbZ), the former president's half-brother, has been the de facto ruler of the UAE for years now, particularly after Khalifa suffered a stroke in 2014.
He has been elected the country's third president.
