  • 17-year-old Sheetal Devi and 39-year-old Rakesh Kumar brought glory to Jammu and Kashmir by winning bronze medals in the mixed team compound open archery event at the Paris Paralympics 2024, making them the region's first Olympic medallists.
  • Sheetal Devi finished second in the individual compound ranking round with 703 points and along with Rakesh Kumar set a new mixed compound world record of 1399.
  • Sheetal Devi was born on 10 January 2007 in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir and despite suffering from a congenital disease called phocomelia, she is an inspirational athlete who excelled in archery, who has gained recognition nationally and internationally by learning to shoot arrows with her feet.
