Bharti Airtel has announced a key leadership transition with the appointment of Shashwat Sharma as Managing Director and CEO of Airtel India, effective 1 January 2026, following board approval on 18 December 2025. He will serve a five-year term and be designated as Key Managerial Personnel. As part of the reshuffle, Gopal Vittal will move to the role of Executive Vice Chairman, while Somen Ray becomes Group CFO and Akhil Garg is appointed CFO of Airtel India.
