  • Mahe, Malvan and Mangrol are 3 shallow water craft developed for the Navy.
  • Recently these three shallow water crafts were launched together.
  • These are anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft.
  • They were built by Cochin Shipyard Limited.
  • An agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Defense and Cochin Shipyard Limited for the construction of a total of 8 shallow water crafts.
  • Mahe, Malvan and Mangrol are the first three shallow water craft.
  • The names of these three ships were kept on ports of strategic importance along the Indian coast.
  • They have been equipped with indigenously developed, state-of-the-art underwater sensors.
  • They were developed for anti-submarine operations in coastal waters as well as low-intensity maritime operations and mine-laying operations.
