The eruption of a volcano named ‘Semeru’ on the Indonesian island of Java has been recorded after a long time.
Semeru, Indonesia's tallest mountain at over 3,600 metres (12,000 feet), is one of roughly 130 active volcanoes in the country.
A very seismically active zone known as the "Pacific Ring of Fire" is responsible for a great number of earthquakes and volcanoes.
