On June 5, 2024, SEBI issued a Master Circular for Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs), Designated Depository Participants, and Eligible Foreign Investors, detailing timelines for disclosing material changes or events.
The SEBI (FPIs) (Amendment) Regulations 2024, notified on June 3, 2024, relaxed the timeline for disclosing material changes by FPIs, modifying the SEBI (FPIs) Regulations 2019.
SEBI categorized material changes into two types: Type I changes, requiring fresh registration and to be informed within seven days with documents within 30 days, and Type II changes, to be informed within 30 days with supporting documents if necessary.
