  • On June 5, 2024, SEBI issued a Master Circular for Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs), Designated Depository Participants, and Eligible Foreign Investors, detailing timelines for disclosing material changes or events.
  • The SEBI (FPIs) (Amendment) Regulations 2024, notified on June 3, 2024, relaxed the timeline for disclosing material changes by FPIs, modifying the SEBI (FPIs) Regulations 2019.
  • SEBI categorized material changes into two types: Type I changes, requiring fresh registration and to be informed within seven days with documents within 30 days, and Type II changes, to be informed within 30 days with supporting documents if necessary.
