  • The Department of School Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Book Trust in New Delhi to establish the Digital Library Platform, Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya.
  • Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, K. Sanjay Murthy, highlighted that this platform will be accessible 24/7 from any geographic location, thereby enhancing book accessibility for readers across the country.
  • K. Sanjay Murthy also emphasized that Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya will address the issue of limited library presence in many states, ensuring broader access to literature. 
  • He expressed optimism that within the next 2-3 years, the platform will host over 10,000 books in more than 100 languages.
