Sambit Patra has been named chairman of the India Tourism Development Corporation by the Cabinet Appointments Committee (ITDC).
GKV Rao, an IAS official, will be the managing director of the ITDC.
Sambit Patra has been named as a part-time non-executive director and chairman of ITDC for a three-year term, or until further orders, whichever comes first.
Sambit Patra serves as the Bharatiya Janata Party's national spokesperson (BJP).
His first job was at Hindu Rao Hospital.In 2017, he was appointed to the board of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) as an Independent Director.
