  • Sambit Patra has been named chairman of the India Tourism Development Corporation by the Cabinet Appointments Committee (ITDC).
  • GKV Rao, an IAS official, will be the managing director of the ITDC.
  • Sambit Patra has been named as a part-time non-executive director and chairman of ITDC for a three-year term, or until further orders, whichever comes first.
  • Sambit Patra serves as the Bharatiya Janata Party's national spokesperson (BJP).
  • His first job was at Hindu Rao Hospital.In 2017, he was appointed to the board of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) as an Independent Director.
