Recently Sagar Parikrama Phase-9 has been launched by the Indian Coast Guard.
This phase of Sagar Parikrama was started from Tiruvandanai in Tamil Nadu.
This campaign has been launched jointly by the Central Fisheries Department and the National Fisheries Development Board.
Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala flagged off this campaign.
In this phase, emphasis will be laid on fisheries awareness campaign.
Sagar Parikrama is a nine transport voyage organized across all coastal States/UTs through pre-determined sea routes to show solidarity with all fishermen, fish farmers and other stakeholders concerned.
