  • Recently the tenth phase of Sagar Parikrama has been started by the Central Government.
  • The tenth phase of Sagar Parikrama was started from Chennai.
  • This phase has been launched by Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala.
  • During this, issues and suggestions of fishermen will be ascertained and they will be given information about government schemes.
  • They will also be made aware about Indian territorial waters, territorial waters and use of GPS.
  • So far 9 stages of Sagar Parikrama have been completed.
  • In these 9 phases, a distance of 4125 km has been covered across 9 states/union territories.
  • The first phase of Sagar Parikrama started from Goa Mandvi on March 5, 2022.
