  • The event is held every year on the 15th day of the fourth month of the Northern Buddhist calendar. 
  • Saga Dawa Utsav commemorates the birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni. This day is also called the triple auspicious occasion.
  • The 'Triple Blessed Festival' or Saga Dawa festival is the most sacred Buddhist festival celebrated to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni.
