Sikkim celebrated 23rd May 2024 Saga Dawa Utsav.
The event is held every year on the 15th day of the fourth month of the Northern Buddhist calendar.
Saga Dawa Utsav commemorates the birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni. This day is also called the triple auspicious occasion.
The 'Triple Blessed Festival' or Saga Dawa festival is the most sacred Buddhist festival celebrated to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni.
