Paul Kagame wins the 2024 Rwandan presidential election for the fourth term with 99% of the votes, as reported by the National Electoral Commission.
The election was held on 15 July 2024, with 9.5 million registered voters in Rwanda's 14 million population; the final result is expected by 27 July 2024.
Paul Kagame has been Rwanda's president since 2000, credited for ending the civil war and leading the country to growth, but also criticized for silencing opposition and amending the constitution to extend his rule.
