  • The Indian cricket team, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, began their campaign at the 9th ICC T20 World Cup with a decisive 8-wicket win against Ireland. 
  • Jasprit Bumrah's outstanding bowling figures of 2 for 6 earned him the 'Man of the Match' award.
  • Rohit Sharma, known as the "Hitman," made history by becoming the first cricketer to hit 600 sixes in international cricket. 
  • Additionally, he is the first Indian and the second player globally, after Chris Gayle, to hit 100 sixes in ICC white-ball tournaments (T20 and ODI).
  • Rohit Sharma joined an elite group by scoring over 4000 runs in T20I cricket, alongside Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. 
  • He also amassed 1015 runs in T20 World Cups, joining Virat Kohli and Mahela Jayawardene in the 1000-run club for the tournament.
