  • Padma Shri awardee weaver Kapil Dev Prasad of Nalanda died in Patna during treatment. He was 71. Kapil Dev Prasad was a resident of Baswan Bigha in Biharsharif. He was running ill for the last few days. Kapil Dev Prasad died during treatment at a hospital in Patna. 
  • In the year 2023, the President awarded him the Padma Shri. Kapil Dev Prasad was associated with the handloom sector for the last six decades. She gave recognition to the Bawanbooti saree in the country and the world.
