Reformist leader Masoud Pezeshkian has won Iran's presidential election, defeating hardline leader Saeed Jalili.
In the result on 6 July 2024, he defeated radical Saeed Jalili.
During his election campaign, he promised the people that he would implement the mandatory headscarf law after winning.
This law was created after several years of restrictions and protests on the Islamic Republic.
