Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has been appointed as the ex-officio Chancellor of Pondicherry University in December 2023.
This appointment has been made after amending statute 1(1) of the Pondicherry University Act, 1985.
As Chancellor, the Vice President will represent the University, preside over the convocation, and contribute to the overall development and welfare of the institution.
Pondicherry University is a central university under the Ministry of Education.
It was established by an Act of Parliament in 1985.
Presently Gurmeet Singh is the Vice Chancellor of this university.
