  • Jamrani project of Uttarakhand has been approved by the Union Cabinet.
  • This project has been included under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana-Accelerated Irrigation Benefit.
  • Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, the expenditure ratio between the Center and the states is 90:10.
  • This project will be built on Gola River, a tributary of Ramganga River in Uttarakhand.
  • Its estimated cost is Rs 2584 crore.
  • This project will be completed in March 2028.
  • This will provide additional irrigation facility of 57,000 hectares in Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand as well as Rampur and Bareilly districts of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana was launched in July, 2015.
