In November 2023, the Australia-India Education and Skills Council meeting was held in Gandhinagar.
This was the first meeting of the Australia-India Education and Skills Council.
This meeting was jointly chaired by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of India, Jason Claire, Education Minister of Australia, Brendan O'Connor, Minister of Skills and Training of Australia.
The scope of the Forum was expanded in line with the national priorities of both the countries to focus on promoting internationalisation, two-way mobility and education as well as cooperation in skill eco-system etc.
The meeting provides a platform for academics and skill experts to discuss a wide range of mutually agreed priorities.
Its ultimate objective is to massively shape the future of education and skills in both the countries.
Australia-India Council on Education and Skills was formed in the year 2021.
