  • In October 2023, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav flagged off the Vistadome train service in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • This is the first Vistadome train service of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • This train was flagged off from Srinagar Railway Station.
  • This train will run from Budgam to Banihal in a distance of 90 km.
  • The announcement of starting the Vistadome train service of Jammu and Kashmir was made in the year 2017.
  • In its second phase it will be extended from Banihal to Baramulla.
  • Vistadome means dome shaped train.
  • From this, picturesque landscapes can be seen.
  • Vistadome coaches are mostly installed to provide panoramic views of the hilly areas.
  • Such trains are equipped with modern facilities.
