  • Software named 'Encore' has been developed by the Election Commission of India in November, 2023.
  • Its full name is 'Enabling Communications on Real-Time Environment'.
  • This application has 3 parts – Encore Counting Application, Encore Scrutiny Application and Encore Nodal App.
  • Encore Counting Application is an end-to-end encrypted application for the Returning Officers to digitize the votes polled, tabulate the round-wise data and then extract various statutory reports of the counting.
  • Another application called Encore Scrutiny Application allows the Returning Officers to check the nominations filed online by the candidates.
  • This helps the Returning Officer to prepare the final list of contesting candidates.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) for rallies, functions etc. can be obtained on Encore Nodal App.
  • The Election Commission of India is an independent and constitutional body.
  • It is described in Articles 324 to 329 of the Constitution.
  • This commission consists of a Chief Election Commissioner and 2 other Election Commissioners.
