The country's first rapid train (RAPIDX) was inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 20 October.
This is the country's first rapid rail.
This rapid rail will run on Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor.
This rapid rail will run on 17 km track of this corridor.
This Rapidex train has been named 'Namo Bharat'.
After the first phase, this project will be extended from Duhai to Meerut.
In the second phase it will be expanded to South Meerut.
In the third phase, work will be completed between Sahibabad and Delhi.
In the year 2025, Rapid Rail will be seen running between Delhi and Meerut.
The rapid train has been designed to run at a speed of 180 km per hour.
Currently Namo Bharat will be operated from Sahibabad to Duhai depot.
