Christopher Luxon will become the new Prime Minister of New Zealand in November 2023.
He has abolished the smoking ban law in the country.
The Prime Minister said that the ban was being abolished because the government was not able to get benefits from the tax.
He also emphasized on the problem of black marketing.
He said that after lifting the ban, the government will receive tax on the sale of cigarettes.
The 'generational smoking ban' legislation was introduced by former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to ban the sale of cigarettes to anyone born after 2008.
