Its first medical college has been established in the north-eastern state of Nagaland in October, 2023.
This medical college has been established in Kohima, the capital of Nagaland.
This medical college was unveiled by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
This college has been named 'Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research'.
There are 100 seats in the medical college of which 85 are earmarked for Nagaland and 15 for other states.
Despite being the second oldest state in the Northeast after Assam, Nagaland was the only state in the region that did not have any medical colleges.
