  • Recently, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has announced the launch of 'Abua Awas Yojana'.
  • Under this scheme, a target has been set to build 8 lakh houses for houseless people.
  • The government will spend Rs 16320 crore for this scheme.
  • 02 lakh houses will be constructed in the first phase in the financial year 2023-24, 03 lakh 50 thousand houses in the second phase 2024-25 and 02 lakh 50 thousand pucca houses will be constructed in the third phase 2025-26.
  • This scheme will remain in force till the year 2025-26.
  • The area of the house to be built under this scheme will be 31 square meters.
  • Under the scheme, provision has been made for a clean kitchen along with three rooms.
  • A provision has been made to increase the assistance amount for house construction under the scheme to Rs 2 lakh for eligible beneficiaries.
