Indian Green Building Council is part of the Confederation of Indian Industry.
Recently this council has started 'NEST' initiative.
The initiative aims to promote sustainable and environment-friendly construction practices in the domestic housing sector.
This initiative has been launched in Chennai.
NEST will encourage individual homeowners and the residential sector to adopt green building features, thereby reducing power consumption, water usage and creating healthy living spaces.
It will provide a platform to the stakeholders of the construction industry in the country to create a sustainable building environment to achieve net zero carbon emission targets.
