  • अक्टूबर, 2023 में भारत ने 'सन्दर्भ ईंधन का उत्पादन शुरू किया है।
  • संदर्भ ईंधन में सेटेन संख्या से लेकर फ्लैश प्वाइंट, चिपचिपाहट, सल्फर और पानी की मात्रा, हाइड्रोजन शुद्धता और एसिड संख्या तक एक आदर्श मानक का पालन किया जाता है।
  • यह मानक सरकारी नियमों के तहत निर्देशित होता है।
  • भारत अब उन शीर्ष देशों में शामिल हो गया है जो सन्दर्भ ईंधन का उत्पादन करते हैं।
  • इस ईंधन का उपयोग ऑटोमोबाइल के परीक्षण के लिए किया जाता है।
  • इंडियन ऑयल कॉरपोरेशन द्वारा इस ईंधन को स्वदेश तकनिक से विकसित किया गया है।
  • इसके विकास से वाहन निर्माताओं और परीक्षण एजेंसियों के लिए बहुत कम लागत पर विश्वसनीय ईंधन आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित होगी।
  • अभी तक दुनिया में केवल 3 एजेंसियां ही सन्दर्भ ईंधन का उत्पादन करती हैं।
