  • According to the ICC, Marlon Samuels attended several anti-corruption sessions and was aware of what his obligations were under the Anti-Corruption Code.
  • Although he is now retired, Samuels was part of the team when the crimes were committed.
  • Earlier in 2008, the ICC had found him guilty of taking money and defaming cricket and had banned him for 2 years.
  • The ICC had found his bowling action illegal in 2015 and banned him from bowling for a year.
  • Samuels played an important role in making West Indies champion in the 2012 and 2016 T20 World Cups.
