  • It is a humanitarian aid and disaster relief exercise that takes place in BIMSTEC member countries.
  • The major goal of this exercise is to strengthen regional collaboration in the event of a natural disaster.
  • BIMSTEC was founded on June 6, 1997. Its headquarter is in Dhaka (Bangladesh). It has 7 member countries – Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand.
