  • February 14, 2023 marks four years of the 2019 pulwama attack when 40 central reserve police force personnel were martyred in a suicide bombing attack.
  • A 22-year-old suicide bomber Adil Ahmad Dar rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a bus carrying 40 CRPF personnel on February 14, 2019, in the Pulwama district. 
  • The attack was carried out at Lethapora in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • The incident killed 40 Indian soldiers along with the perpetrator-Adil Ahmad Dar-who was a local Kashmiri youth.
  • On February 26 last year, in response to the Pulwama attack, India struck a Jaish terrorist training camp in Pakistan's Balakot area, code-named “Operation Bandar”.
  • A total of 19 accused were named in the chargesheet filed by the NIA in August 2020.
