On 21 September 2025, Project Vijayak of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) celebrated its 15th Raising Day in Kargil, Ladakh. BRO announced a ₹1,200 crore expansion plan to improve connectivity and strategic strength in remote high-altitude areas. Since 2010, the project has built 1,400 km of roads and 80 major bridges, including reopening Zojila Pass in just 31 days in April 2025. The plan includes road widening, new tunnels, bridges, and advanced technologies, along with enhanced welfare for workers. Project Vijayak strengthens national security, local development, and quality of life in the region.
